Based in Los Angeles, Makers Strategies was founded by hard-working millennial women who realized the current system was no longer working for us and our communities. So, we decided to do something about it.

Kendra Burns-Edel
Kendra is a Los Angeles based political and social impact consultant with a decade of experience in political campaigns, strategic philanthropy, and public affairs.
Kendra formerly served as Chief of Staff at a boutique public affairs consulting firm where she specialized in government relations, public affairs, and fundraising consulting. Her clients included high-net worth individuals in the entertainment industry, foundations, non-profit organizations, and Fortune 500 corporations.
Previously, she served as a Senior Political Accounts Supervisor at Kaufman Legal Group, a premier compliance law firm where she managed the treasury and campaign finance for 50 federal, state and local clients including candidates, elected officials, ballot measures, PACs and unions.
Kendra is on the Board of California Women’s List and Los Angeles County Young Democrats.

Emily Getoff
Emily Getoff is a Los Angeles-based consultant with a decade of experience leading strategic partnerships and growth management for organizations and campaigns. She is also a seasoned electoral candidate recruiter and trainer.
Prior to joining Makers, Emily managed West Coast partnerships for political tech firm Civis Analytics’ public sector team. Before that, Emily was the Western Regional Director at DigiDems where she coached Democratic Congressional Campaign technologists nationally in 2020. Emily has also managed outreach strategy for statewide advocacy campaigns, including at Young Invincibles, where she successfully led creation of the first ever Student Mental Health Advisory Board in the US, for the California State University System.
Emily serves on the board of California Women’s List and is a member of the American Association of Political Consultants, LA County Young Democrats, and the National Women’s Political Caucus LA. She is also a Lead Electoral Candidate Recruiter with Close the Gap, CA where she coaches and recruits women to run for open State Legislature seats.

Charlotte Milner-Barry
Based in Los Angeles, Charlotte is a seasoned consultant with a decade-long track record of driving social impact through strategic philanthropy, policy reform, and public-private partnerships.
Previously, Charlotte worked at the public affairs firm Gonring Lin Spahn, where she advised high-profile clients on philanthropic impact, guided private foundations in strategic programming, and supported nonprofits in board development and visibility.
Prior to her time in the U.S, Charlotte spent nine years working in London, UK, making a mark as a philanthropic advisor and community builder at The Funding Network. Her accomplishments include collaborating with the UK government and successfully implementing one of the first social impact bonds (SIBs) in a groundbreaking public-private partnership with a national nonprofit, aimed at helping at-risk teenagers secure employment.
An expert on engaging young philanthropists, Charlotte has been a featured speaker at international conferences focused on multi-generational wealth. She actively contributes to the philanthropic landscape as a member of the Los Angeles Advisory Board of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP) and Resource Generation LA. Charlotte, a certified trainer in family philanthropy, holds a bachelor’s degree in history with honors from the University of London (SOAS). Raised in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and London, she brings a unique global perspective to her work
